S.E.R.T

The presence of a highly skilled tactical unit inside a correctional institution has been shown to substantially reduce the risk of injuries or loss of life to inmates and officers. In recognizing this, the creation of a special response team to manage critical incidents in the institution was needed. As a result, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.) was put into place to provide a highly trained and skilled team to successfully manage critical incidents and assist the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office or other requesting agencies. S.E.R.T. has also assisted in our community with helping the Indiana Special Olympics and local food banks distribution.
