Drug Interdiction Unit

The Delaware County Sheriffs Highway Drug Interdiction program was established to illicit drug availability and its harmful consequences within our community by standing intelligence-driven forces and supporting infrastructure designed to target, disrupt and eliminate drug trafficking organizations impacting our county and beyond. They highway interdiction team consists of Sheriff's deputies and K-9's. Delaware County consists of approximately 400 square miles including major state roads and interstates. Delaware County falls in the heart of a drug trafficking pipeline via Interstate 69 and US 35. Many seizures recovered within Delaware County are a result of trafficking bound for Detroit Michigan, Dayton Ohio, and Indianapolis Indiana.
