SHERIFF'S DEPUTY
The Delaware County Sheriff's Department utilizes an eligibility hiring list process for merit deputies. This list is compiled by a consulting firm and applicants are ranked based on their resumes, written testing and oral interview skills. Once compiled, the list lasts for two years. We are not currently in an application process. The current list was adopted by the Merit Board at their June 4, 2007 meeting, the list will be valid until June 3, 2009.
CORRECTIONS OFFICER/JAIL STAFF
Applications are taken more frequently for Corrections Officers for the Delaware County Jail Division. Applications are available at the Delaware County Human Resources Office. If you are interested in applying for a jail position, please refer to the letter below or you may contact the Delaware County Human Resource Division at (765) 741-3397 or the Delaware County Jail at (765) 747-7807 .

If you recently completed and
returned an application for employment with the Delaware County Jail here is a
tentative schedule of events for the selection process. Successful
candidates will be notified in writing as to your appointed time and location
for each stage of the process.
Successful candidates are required to successfully complete a training course (80 Hour Academy) beginning March 30, 2009 - April 10, 2009 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
