As Sheriff of Delaware County, I am proud to offer the citizens of the community a Sheriff's Department that is highly skilled and trained in a variety of law enforcement divisions.  Currently the Sheriff's Department offers services to our citizens from divisions such as: Uniform Patrol, Investigations, Drug Task Force, Service of Civil Process, Juvenile Investigations, Court Security, Jail Operations, Prisoner Transportation, Vehicle Crash Reconstruction, SWAT, Bomb Disposal, Underwater Search and Recovery, K9 Unit, Crisis Negotiations, Reserve Organization and a Training Division.

I have worked in all of the areas mentioned above at one time or another during my tenure with the Delaware County Sheriff's Department.  One division that is no longer attached to us and is a separate government entity is Communications.  Before it was taken onto its own, I had duty assignments in this area as well.  My intimate knowledge of each and every area of the Sheriff’s Department serves me well as your Sheriff.  I’ve done the job of the officers I am now leading and am proud of the services we provide the citizens of this community.

In addition to my law enforcement career, I am a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and am the owner of and Chief Instructor at Sheridan’s Martial Arts Center, Inc. with studios in Muncie and Farmland.  I hold the following martial arts ranks:

• Master Grade International Certified Instructor
• Shihan – Master 6^th Dan Okinawan Shuri-Ryu
• Renshi – Master 5^th Dan Okinawan Kobudo
• 4^th Dan Tae Kwon Do
• 3^rd Dan Shintoysohin –Ryu Jiu-Jitsu
• 1^st Dan Judo
